Zen and the Ergonomic Office
Now that office design trend is gearing towards minimalist, Zen design structure, the comfort of the worker should still be, as always, a top priority.
Zen design for your office and office furniture should go with ergonomically-designed chairs, desks, and other office furniture. There are benefits in creating a simple and Zen-like environment such as a relaxed mood for the worker, boost of creativity and uniqueness of ideas, and a more aesthetic appeal all in all.
But ergonomics has made its mark in caring for the office employee, as well. It has helped people feel more comfortable in doing their job. It has also protected the well being and health of workers, as it prevents strains and muscle stress. Ergonomic office furniture has also been found to be positively linked to employee productivity, work satisfaction, and even employee morale.
Just imagine the magic that it can do if Zen and ergonomics is combined in your office.
Here are some two basic ways to combine Zen and ergonomics in the office:
1. When it comes to office furniture, it is non-negotiable to go for the ergonomically-designed pieces. Ergonomic chairs and table desks are usually good in utilizing space while providing comfort for the worker. So it’s almost Zen-like.
2. In doing aesthetics in the office, just choose the simple ones. Art need not be loud. You can always go for simplicity and class.
Functionality and art can now be practically combined in the workplace. The key is to know your priorities and to keep things simple to achieve them.
