STEP #5 IDENTIFY PROFIT SOURCE

Start up business require sufficient investments. Money may come from your own pocket, through loan applications, or from outside investors. All which are considerably favorable but it is proven that financing the business from one’s one savings is generally the most efficient.

STEP #6 LEARN THE FACTS

Research everything you need to know about home businesses. Libraries and bookstores provide great numerous sources like books, magazines that provide basics of business development.

STEP #7 GET A LASTING NAME

Before embarking on county-wide press releases and marketing campaigns, select a name that will best represent your kind of endeavor. If the business you choose is different form your name, file an assumed or fictitious name certificate with the county. You are notified if another business already has that name, so you can select a new one.


STEP #8 PEN THE BUSINESS PLAN

It is important to derive a good business plan that clarifies all of your ideas and establishes a plan of action. Successful business plans include a description of what you are selling, your background and qualifications, who the prospective customers are and where they can be found, what is needed to build the business, how you plan to promote, and how much money is need for start-up costs.

STEP #9 GET AN IDENTIFYING NUMBER

When signing binding and official forms, since you are the sole proprietor of the business and have no employees, it is best to use your Social Security number or an Employee Identification Number. On the other hand, you must obtain a EIN for the business if you have employees or if the business is set up as a partnership or corporation.
