Re-Organize Office Furniture for a Healthier Workspace
Do you easily get tired after working for a short span of time? Do you often find your arms, legs, neck and lower back getting numb easily even if work hours are not yet over? Well, if you do, then here’s a few tips on how to get away with tired and tight muscles and body parts without having to go through too much trouble.
- Make sure you have the right office furniture that goes with your job. Usually, work requires 8 hours of sitting in front of your computer. It’s not healthy if your chair doesn’t allow you to position yourself properly and comfortably while working.
- Consider getting pieces of office furniture that have special features that provide you with comfort and help you achieve better work performance. When it comes to chairs, for example, look for ones that roll, move, swivel, with armrest and the right contour for back support.
- It is important that the chair you use has the right dimension so as to allow your knees to bend comfortably off the end of the chair.
- If you are slouching, it means your body is not supported properly. This bad posture can be prevented by choosing the right chair that allows you to sit upright, with your spine forming a vertical bar.
- Sit in a position where your shoulders are squared up with the rest of your body facing your desk.
- When working with a computer, it is important to position the keyboard as well as the mouse on a desk, having all these equipments at the same level as your elbow. Also, note that computer monitors should be placed right in front of you not.
- Invest on wrist rest or wrist brace to support your hands and wrists and to avoid muscular pain or other disorders such as Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.
- Make sure you are in a workplace that spells: spacious. Enough space like ample leg room helps you move freely as you work.
- Lights should not be too bright to hurt your eyes. Adjust their brightness so as to avoid possible eyestrain.
- Use screen filters to protect your eyes from harmful UV that your computer monitor emits.
After learning these helpful tips, now is the perfect time to make the most out of your workspace and start re-organizing it for a better well-being. Equipped with the right office furniture and the right knowledge on their usage, you’re sure to achieve a healthy workspace while keeping a healthy lifestyle as well.
