One of the key attributes of a successful office is being organized. It basically means that once a certain file is requested, an employee must know where exactly to look for it . Perhaps the best option one could get, there are filing cabinets that are highly efficient when it comes to storage. If you look around, you will be able to pick one up second hand for around £20. If not, you will be paying over £50 for a new one although small storage boxes can be purchased individually for around £5 each.

Purchasing second hand filing cabinets does offer a great way of minimizing costs. There are a lot of stores who offer them. Only make sure that the cabinets and drawers are working properly and that the locks are still functioning. Ask for spare keys.

Desks/Shelving



Office desks are perhaps the essential office furniture above anything else. Every worker needs an adequate desks wherein he or she can just layout the task for the day and work on it. It comes in in all sorts of shapes and sizes, with every design having specific functions to it. When selecting pieces for the workplace, be sure that you find one that is most comfortable and practical for yourself and your employees.

Simple desks can be found for under £100 and can stretch up to £300 for something that offers more facilities, space and perhaps more style. Know how much space you have in your workplace or things could get too crowded and impractical if you buy something too big, one large desk may be ok, but six large desks in a small office could seriously affect the quality of the working conditions. Again, you must measure room space as if you were actually putting the pieces where they’d fall.
