Office Furniture Delivery and Installation – Part 2
Often times there are changes to be made in the delivery arrangement so make sure to clarify if such changes can cost you. Better to inquire about cancellation charges. If there are delivery cancellations are there corresponding charges as well? What are the arrangements for late deliveries? Most of these manufacturers more or less know how to protect their equipment, but even though, damages should still be in question.
The furniture or equipment must be delivered in good condition. The manufacturers use special cartons, and packaging techniques in order to prevent the damage in the product. The manufacturer should replace an equipment with even the slightest hint of defect or evidence of being mishandled.
Inquire about assembly as well. Most of the items like office filing systems, bookcases, small tables and more need to be assembled during delivery. Sure they may come with instruction guides but it would be easier if they would assemble it while they’re there. This will save you time, all you have to do is place them where they’re supposed to be, you do not have to go through the trouble of putting the pieces together.
Like any deliveries, a person will be asked to sign the delivery sheet once the furniture has been delivered. You must check all the items for damage, check if everything is complete before signing the delivery sheet.
This will also indicate the price quote so you may go over it one more time. Last but not least is the trash removal. This is according to agreement when closing an order. You may have arrangements that the delivery company will have to remove all packaging materials from the premise. This varies upon your agreement with the sales representative.
When it comes to installation of the office furniture, you need to make sure that it is done and completed properly and on time. There are installation companies that you may hire, or the office furniture sellers may offer it free. For office furniture that need professionals to install, you must go through every detail to ensure that everything is in order before signing the delivery sheet. These maybe large scale projects that include furniture systems being installed and other office furnishings.
