Office Furniture Delivery and Installation – Part 1

Office furniture manufacturers and retailers are doing their best to be as competitive as they can be in terms of the quality of their products, the pricing and customer service in order to keep their current market and even widen it by gaining more customers . As a result they tend to come up with these special promos and offers like throwing in freebies or free installation or even free delivery of the office furniture or equipment. But as these things may sound easy, there are important factors to be considered in order to assure the proper way of its execution. These would then make an impressive mark to the customers and would make them come back for more of the products.

In the delivery of office furniture, there are certain processes that you need to know. You may ask for assistance from the office furniture representative in certain instances that needs to be dealt with the right way.

One of the factors to be considered in delivery is the time. This is of utmost importance, a delivery must be precise, therefore as a customer you must be able to give a specific time that is in accordance to your availability. If a delivery would interfere with the work you’re doing, or if it needs to be installed and would disturb the office employees, then it should be delivered overtime.

Overtime deliveries may cost more since these are deliveries made out of the normal business hours. Actually, it is better to spend your money this way than lose revenue due to the disruption of your normal operations just because an equipment needs to be installed. Whereas a straight time delivery is made during normal business hours, this is only advisable if the office furniture needs no installment. Take for example the office desk, you can just leave it in one corner and once the shift ends you can place it at the designated place and start moving your things.

If you are working in a building, another thing to note is the use of elevators or loading areas. If the equipment is big it may need to use an alternate way, like if the building has a loading dock or delivery area located at the back of the building, this will of course have to be coordinated with the building or facility manager for certain arrangements

The location of the delivery is one of the important things that you have to coordinate with the sales representative. Direct deliveries are made when the furniture needs to be delivered from the factory straight to the site. The office furniture retailers have certain requirements when it comes to quantities of delivery. This should also be coordinated clearly with the sales agent or delivery representative.
