Laptop Posture for Dummies – Part 1
In this day and age of fast living and ultra-modern gadgets and accessories, it would not be a surprise that almost everything is becoming portable. Actually, portable is fast becoming the “it” word in the progressive world of today.
Portable music, portable images, portable files, portable computers and virtually anything portable are now being considered must-haves. Indeed, there is a certain power that comes with being able to transfer or move in the daily grind with ease. This is the power of convenience and perhaps there is no other place where portability is more needed rather than the workplace.
Today’s world is very hectic. Work and personal relations are being juggled while the employee walks the very thin line of comfort. Fall off and one would find him or herself lost in the oblivion of stress. Nevertheless, taking the science of convenience in mind, most workers equip themselves with tools that aid them in with work. Gone are the days where employees are stuck in office chairs completely fixated on their office desk. These tools are the products of constant technological development and innovation. Palm pilots, cellphones, USB devices, Ipods and many other high tech gizmos are all the preferred machinery of fast paced employees. However, one device proves to be the essential tool of portability in the “Windows” generation of today. This is the portable computer, otherwise known as the laptop.
For the uninitiated, laptops are small mobile computers which usually weigh only about 2 to 5 pounds depending on size, material and other factors. More advance models even seem to weigh as light as paper. As personal computers, laptops are capable of the same tasks as a desktop computer, although they are typically less powerful for the same price. They contain components that are similar to their desktop counterparts and perform the same functions but are miniaturized and optimized for mobile use and efficient power consumption.
