How to Set Up a New Office-II

Having your own office is indeed a very exciting phase for your business. However, there are a lot of things that you should consider before you move in to that new office space of yours, and these are not just the office furniture or the style of the office. Here is a list of the few things that you must take care of before you move in to your new office:

Choosing an office desk. An ideal shape for your office desk would be the L-shape or the U-shape. Your new office desk should have either shelves above it or a hutch for you to put your files in—from frequently used files to old records. This adds free space on your workstation.

Office chair must-haves. Invest in a good office chair because it is the most important tool that will support you and your co-workers in the office. Make sure to get the wheeled office chair and the adjustable one with a good lower back support.

The filing and storage. Purchase filing cabinets to hold all your papers. Get one file drawer that could be kept within an arm’s reach. You can do this by putting the drawer under your office desk or beside it. Keep confidential and important files away in a much safer drawer.

Supplies. Keep a place where you can store all your office supplies. A cabinet or credenza may do. Keep extras of all your office supplies to avoid any last-minute needs, such as running out of ink for the printer, etc.

Phone lines. Have a DSL connection installed versus the dial-up (for all the obvious reasons), but if you do not have a choice, then set up a line for the Internet and a second one for clients calling.

Consider a multifunction machine. To cap off the list, a multifunction machine will confirm your new office’s entirety. Buy one with the basic needs—a printer, a fax, and a scanner. Find ones that are reasonably priced, and ones that are efficient too.

Follow these six tips and you will find it very easy the next time you set up your own office.
