Home Office for Writers – Part 2

  • Having a wastebasket near the workstation or even just withing the home office promotes a hygienic environment. More importantly, placing recycling containers condones the worker to recycle and save much on office supplies.
  • Instead of piling up journals and magazines, scan the table of contents for articles related to your expertise. Tear them out or photocopy and file them by subject so you can find them when you actually need to use them. A Just In Time Reading System may prove to be a valuable practice.
  • Archives creates more filing space getting things more organized. Keep files and folders neatly stored so when the time comes that you would need a reference, you would know exactly where to look for.
  • Feeling short of space? Look up! Make good use of wall space for bookshelves or cabinets for resources such as books, audio and videotapes, notebooks, magazines, and office supplies.



Writers have the best minds. What they lack in physical strength are well compensated with their incredible flair for web wizardry. So naturally, having an adequate and comfortable workplace ehances their creative juices and provides them a sanctum to accomplish their works.

Also remember to include ergonomic office chairs that well supports the physique of its occupants. Chairs that are uncomfortable strains the back and neck which proves to a hindrance on worker’s performance. Most of all, since most writers work in a home office, making sure that everything around you is set to stir and influence the thinking mind.
