Ergonomic is Key for a Stress -Free Environment – Part 2
With that in mind, here are some ways to improve ergonomics in the office:
The arrangement of computer stations. There is a proper set up for work stations, desks and seats must also be arranged properly. The standard desk height is 30 inches, although 27 or 28 inch workstations will do for those who don’t spend most of the time sitting in front of a computer. The computer users are at risk if the monitors and keyboards are not set up properly too, the top line of type should be between eye level and 15 degrees below eye level, while the keyboard position should allow the wrists to remain straight. These would help in proper posture which can prevent neck and back problems and the chair should be able to support the lower back.
The office chairs must be adjustable in height and the back rests, you are able to tilt it and rotate with five of its wheels. Employees should be able to know the position they are most comfortable with in an office chair. They should be able to adjust it to their preferences.
Provide support and adjust your positioning for proper blood flow. This carries oxygen to muscles. You might want to take buying forearm rests and wrist cushions into consideration. It is also advisable to adjust position repeatedly throughout the day to prevent stressing the muscles. Take breaks from time to time or step away from the computer or work stations.
Arrange the desks in a way that employees can move with ease and not have to repeat the same tasks like reaching out for a file that is constantly being used.
If you are having physical distress at work, do something about it right away. If you don’t little problems like these may turn into bigger risks. Asking for help can prevent a major injury.
