Environments That Work Furnished Wilmer Hale Offices

Environments That Work, Boston’s newest office furniture dealer has announced today that it has been successful in completing an installation for Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr LLP, one of—if not the best— the nation’s fastest growing law firms.

WilmerHale has offices in 11 cities of the United States, as well as some in Europe and Asia. The law firm has more than a thousand lawyers and over 350 litigators. The office that Environments That Work has furnished is located at 60 State Street in Boston, taking over the entire 19th floor of the building to house about 50 employees.

In order to meet its need for a flexible office space, WilmerHale has decided to select a custom wood casegoods solution from the Mystic line furniture from Helikon for nine paralegal offices and 17 secretarial stations. Known for its quality and sophisticated design, Environments That Work installed Shift casegoods from Bernhardt Furniture in 24 Associate offices. The conference room was outfitted with chairs from HBF and a custom Cumberland table.

Meanwhile, it was the Boston office of Gensler that handled the architectural and interior design of the building, which created an international look with clean lines and classic materials to reflect the image of a global law firm. The firm’s legacy blue color was incorporated into a new contemporary palette. The design of new support zones opened up areas by countering the geometry of the building.

In the end, office sizes are more consistent and paralegals get interior offices with glass fronts. The introduction of side lights (glass next to door) at perimeter offices improves access to natural light. A “case flex rooms” concept was used to accommodate large cases and multiple files that accompany global legal projects.

Environments That Work is a residential interior design company with twenty years of design and business experience. It is known for its friendly approachable style designing rooms and remodels for real people. They offer an appeal of having a personal coach and consultant, or they can do the entire design project including creative work, space planning and product selections.
