Companies Answer Employees’ Demands for a Better Workplace
In today’s world of growth and rapid changes, employees of the 21st century, no matter what field they specialize in, are having different demands and increasing needs when it comes to their jobs including workplace and office furniture.
According to recent studies, most of the workers these days are looking for companies that can provide them with what they need in order to get their job done efficiently while keeping themselves happy with what they are doing. They don’t want to look at their job as something they do for a living but as something that they are passionate about, something that they enjoy doing.
Many of these workers demand to have a change of environment. A stiff, lifeless and tedious workplace is something they surely despise since it affects not only their work performance but their attitude in work as well. Employers who recognize these needs have done actions to give the workers a place that would inspire them to become more productive while letting them enjoy what they do. Here are some of the helpful tips that have shown significant difference in improving staff performance:
- Have a work environment that resembles the atmosphere of a living room—comfortable, laid-back yet conducive to working.
- Office furniture has a great contribution when it comes to motivating staff to work efficiently. Provide them with comfortable office chair, spacious desks, and storage cabinets.
- Office chair should provide ease and comfort like having armrest, spine and back support, wheels, swivel, gliding, reclining and height adjustment features.
- Desks must provide a worker with generous legroom where he could stretch his tired legs. Also, this allows him to move freely.
- Storage cabinets must also have ample space to accommodate work-related stuff like files, office supplies and equipments. It is also important, especially to women that they are given storage cabinets for their personal items.
- According to experts, dotting pot plants around office furniture can increase productivity in the workplace by as much as 12 per cent.
- Technology also plays an important role in helping the staff work faster, easier and more successfully.
- Workspace should be surrounded by wireless internet connection, new and improved office machines such as computers or laptops, scanners, printers, copiers, and the like.
- Studies show that good lighting also contributes to productivity as it gives a positive atmosphere, hence, giving the employees positive moods and attitude.
- Replacing traditional conference tables and chair with lounge-like furniture such as coffee tables, couches, stylish rug, etc. is also helpful.
- Companies should make their employees feel that the overall welfare of the workers is given importance. That is why experts suggest that providing the staff with more than just the basics enhances morale.
- Working in front of the computer for eight straight hours is in fact draining. It would be nice if workers have small areas such as office lounges, pantry, coffee room, or the like where they can relax a little while having their breaks.
Studies have proved it. Office furniture, equipments as well as ambiance indeed have a massive impact on employees and their work performance. Moreover, improving the layout and design of a workplace is inviting to customers and clients. All these help your business to become more progressive than ever before.
