Applying Psychology to the Office
Design Psychology is very applicable to the office, most specifically to office furniture since it can either stimulate the brain or help the emotions to feel lighter. This will help the employees to increase their productivity rate since their office is now a better place to be in. tHere are a few tips on how to make the office a brighter place to be in:
Provide Friendly Lighting. Begin your make-over with the lighting, since brightness can enhance happiness. Be cautious with overdoing the lighting though since it will lead to eyestrain, headaches, and even fatigue. Install dimmers and add some specialized lighting that could either dim or brighten up the space, depending on the situation. To use home-style lamps will will immediately bring in a warm atmosphere to the office and it will improve the productivity. They do not just enhance the employee’s psychology, but they also help in attaining good visibility.
Use Creative Colors on the Walls. Color can play a he factor in a person’s outlook in life and in the feeling as well. Add touches of soft grays, warm tans, and silver blues to cool the vision. Since gray is the only color without an “after image” imprinted on our brain, soft grays provide great backgrounds for in-depth thinking too. Warm tans connote far-horizon desert or beach scenery while cotton-candy pinks inspire fantasy—these colors are therefore ideal for writers.
Dress Your Office to Impress. Since you are most likely dressing up your office to impress prospected clients, why not try to dress it up for your own employees? Go all out with the over-scaled office furniture with matching large landscape paintings. Consider what your guests want to feel in your office. Through this, you will be able to exert a uniformed thought or theme in your office furniture and the color schemes.
Applying Design Psychology in your office will really help you do wonders. Your guests will feel good in your office, and more so for your very own office, who are not only happy to stay in their ergonomic office furniture, but are also happy to work in a productive environment too.
