Office Furniture Going RTA – Part 1
These days, most office furniture are sold at a very high price where many small-scale businesses can’t simply reach. Displayed on the showrooms all across the country are ultra-modern office desks and chairs that doesn’t really fit the nature of humble startup businesses. In fact, many of the furniture sold doesn’t even include standard features like proper storage, filing, spacious work area, among many others and offer only cutting edge aesthetic designs over functionality.
However, there is a substitute to these overpriced, counterproductive furniture pieces. Nowadays, certain retailers sell a cost saving and convenient form of furniture. Something to the delight of upcoming companies. These are the RTAs.
Ready-to-Assemble types of office furniture are high quality solid wood with wood veneers that are easy in assembly. Sometimes called as Knock-Down furniture, most consumers confuse themselves in thinking that RTAs are cheap and feeble pieces much like as paperboard furniture. The thing is, there is a huge difference in many aspects that gets to be neglected.
First and foremost, it is much easier and cost effective to ship furniture in a box compared to shipping furniture that is fully assembled. Secondly, furniture that are readily assembled often times come out damaged after being shipped from docks to docks and from countless cargo trucks. Since RTA is more compact, there is more room to fit a significant quantity in a container compared to standard assembled ones. Plus, RTA is considered to be ideal to manufacturers who produce furniture by the bulk since it is much efficient to set up an assembly line by just producing and packaging furniture parts. On the other hand, finished products does require additional setup that would eventually need an increase of retail pricing.
Easy and convenient assembly is actually the main advantage of RTA over its counterparts.
