Increase productivity through a new innovative concept

OFIS, who is a company that offers the furniture, flooring and interior solutions as part of the Easa Saleh Al Gurg Group, will participate in the Middle East’s premier exhibition aimed at bringing inspiring workplaces to life, dubbed as ‘Office 2007′.

It is known that the office, busy and high-trafficked as it is, has to compete with many distractions. Employers have to make sure that employees are on their toes at all times to ensure maximum productivity. With these reasons in mind, there are a growing number of office furniture designers in existence who are focusing on creating flexible, dynamic and exciting work environments.

An innovative concept has been successfully introduced and implemented in Holland called ‘Village Office’, This new corporate philosophy, or way of thinking, motivates the way offices or work places and its envirments are created or structured. This contemporary thinking idea has been developed by Holland’s leading office furnishing company, Samas, who also happens to be the largest residential and office furniture producer in the continent of Europe.

Director of Business Development, Theo Magermans, seeks to push this initiative to the UAE. He also stated that Village Office objective is to stimulate the people to think like an entrepreneur and to somehow educate them to adapt to varied working lifestyles and this includes work at office, home, or while traveling.

The concept of Village Office affirms that happy individuals are more productive and this is by creating links between these factors: office environment, job satisfaction, worker motivation and productivity. This also known as the ‘New ways of working’ idea.

Samas is constantly observing trends and markets in order to provide better and suitable working environments for their employees. After carrying out extensive research for the UAE market, we felt that there is scope for introducing flexible working environments that can enhance employee productivity.

Samas has been inspired by the social structures of a village or urban neighbourhood in developing their Village Office concept. The idea helped create a friendly ambience for both management and employees. The defining spirit of the concept is community. Explaining it further, the concept is to establish an evironment wherein everyone is familiar with another. It should be a place where all physical and psychological needs are satisfied.

Through this concept, the company aims to create a smart, attractive, friendly design in the environment, which can also have a flexible, effective and welcoming office ambience for their employees, ultimately, motivates the employees to not miss a work day and to increase productivity.

There are many international companies entering the Middle East and UAE but OFIS is challenged to present their products and concepts that define a proper work environment to their customers.Therfore, in associating with Samas, OFIS would give their customers an view into their new Village Office idea or the concept of the ‘new ways of working’. They consider it an honour to be part of the exhibition, which is an ideal place to launch or present this innovative idea to individuals in the industry such as architects, office furniture designers, and office owners, who are looking for inspiration and contemporary ideas for creating and developing successful offices.

Other OFIS brands that will be showcased in the exhibition are Interface, Parador wooden flooring, environment-friendly broadloom carpets from Beaulieu of America and Bentley Prince Street, Dauphin, modular office desks, storage and partitioning systems from India’s BP Ergo, Della Valentina Office systems and Benel office chairs. Many of the overseas suppliers of OFIS will be attending the exhibition. As for their partner, Samas has set up projects in Netherlands, which includes Ericsson, Interpolis, Kluwer, IBM, and Oracle.

The location and schedule of the Office Exhibition, Office 2007, will be held at the Dubai International Exhibition Centre from 3 - 5 June 2007, 11am - 7pm daily, respectively.
