The construction. Most file cabinets are made of steel because steel is a very durable material that can withstand wearing out while still looking good. Wood, on the other hand, is not as strong as the steel, so consider how much the file cabinet will be used before splurging on wood. It is probably ideal for the home, but not for the office. Try looking for a cabinet that is well-made with a reinforced base and double-walled steel sides for added sturdiness.
