Turn Your Workplace Green

Did you know that companies these days are beginning to care for the environment already now that they are aware of the damages that corporations can do to our nature through the use of ordinary office furniture, supplies and equipments? Join the corporate trend now, start thinking green and turn your office into an eco-friendly work place. You don’t have to be a tree-hugging entrepreneur to save mother earth. All you have to do is follow these few simple ways:

# 1 Green lighting

Switch from fluorescent lamps or incandescent bulbs to energy-saving lights like light emitting diode, commonly known as LED. These are eco-friendly, cost-effective, and have longer life span than any ordinary light solutions. If you are not too hot for the color they emit, you can always use colored lampshade as alternative. Experiment with colors and can make your office more appealing. You can use warmer hues such as peach or deep beige for a cozier feel, while blue or green colors work for a cool effect.

# 2 Green Thumb

Put plants around your workplace. It’s the trend nowadays that most offices practice. Place them on top of office furniture such as desk, side tables, shelves, countertop, etc. Having plants inside the office provides benefits such as reducing stress level among workers, creates fresher and cleaner work environment and added appeal. Also, it helps reduce harmful particles released from office equipments such as printers, copiers, upholstery, and computer screens as it absorbs toxins.

# 3 Green Office Furniture

Today, more and more office furniture manufacturers are showing their concerns to the environment and have begun producing eco-friendly products. Instead of buying and using sets of office furniture that are not made from materials that emit harmful chemicals, go for energy-efficient and more environmentally-friendly goods.

# 4 Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

Instead of throwing away used plastic cups or takeaway containers, reuse them as penholders or paper tray. When it comes to paper products, stationery or business cards, you can maximize their use by writing on the blank spaces at the back. Who says recycling only includes paper products and plastic-based items? Recycling, reducing, and reusing can also be applied to large objects such as office equipments, machineries, office furniture, etc. Let’s use printers and other copiers for example. You can adjust their print quality from high to low especially when printing drafts, informal documents, and the like.

Transforming your workspace into an eco-friendly area is easy and doesn’t have to be expensive. Aside from giving your office a healthier environment, you create interior appeal as well. So start to think green and support environment-related causes through your own simple means now.
