How to Attain the Proper Posture in the Office
Since people spend at least eight hours a day in the office, it is important that we know how to take good care of our posture. We are stuck in the cubicle and we have to adhere to the office furniture that help us work properly and to avoid having any body aches. However, it is still our responsibility to do our part when it comes to the right sitting position. For instance, while your office chair may be ergonomic to support your back, it will not take into effect if you are always slouching. Hence, here are a few things that you should consider when it comes to attaining the proper posture in the office.
Ensure these things: the ability of the user to reach the keyboard without straining the wrist and arms, the elbow angle, the ability of the upper arm and elbow to relax , the ability to sit back to utilize the back support, keep the head and neck straight, and the whole posture relaxed. These are the elements that you should be able to exercise while you are sitting on your office chair. Do not cause any unnecessary strain to your body by putting things that are far to reach, such as the mouse and the keyboard. Always keep them within easy reach and just follow the curve of your backrest to allow your spine to relax.
Make sure that the user is placed in the center of the alphanumeric keyboard. Adjust your office chair using its available mechanisms to make it taller or shorter to better level with the desk. Typing is a tedious task that may cause many strain to your arm and wrists, so it should be enough that you are able to sit back properly and let your hands move away. Another tip: if you are using a telephone, keep it close as well. Imagine the little stress that it would cause your back to reach out and answer the phone, because if it is done repetitively, it could do your back harm. So despite all the stress that your mind and hands are going through, remember to take it all while you are sitting prettily on your office desk, all relaxed and in the right posture. Do not surprised if this contributes to your productivity, because that is one of the things that a good posture can do.
