Herman Miller’s Mirra

Herman Miller is a household name when it comes to high quality office furniture. Producing the most innovative product line up for nearly a century now, the company introduced to the world a one of a kind design that will prove to be the standard that will shape the office furniture industry. Enter the Mirra chair.

One of the best examples within Herman Miller is the Mirra Chair. By looking into the de-construction of the product after its life cycle had ended, the initial design is thought to be more environmentally effective. Sustainable in design, Mirra is made of a minimal number of parts and is easily disassembled for recycling; the recycled content is high, and it’s 96 percent recyclable. It has a recyclable fabric and a latitude back upholstery that is also 100% recyclable.

Herman Miller teamed with the German design firm Studio 7.5’s designers namely Claudia Plikat, Burkhard Schmitz, Nicolai Neubert, Carola Zwick, and Roland Zwick. These talented individuals envisioned the Mirra as an office chair that reacts to what people do. From this concept, Mirra’s passive adjustability was born. Mirra has went on to become a best-seller in most retail stores. Without a doubt, Herman Miller will continue to be a leader in the office furniture industry for many years to come.
