Many offices do not just let visitors in without an appointment. Therefore those who are not penciled in are asked to wait out front to see if they can be accommodated. This is common in many offices despite the line of work, whether this is an executive office, a clinic or a hotel or even a hospital.

The lobby or reception area is the first thing a guest, be it clients or just plain visitors, would lay their eyes on. Therefore it is important that it appears stylish and cozy for this will serve as a waiting area for guests.

The reception is an area that will give a first impression to the company’s visitors. It will be a personal reflection of the company’s work stability. It will show how professional a certain organization is. A company must invest in fashionable and dynamic reception or lobby area.



They need something that will show or represent the company’s goals, its purpose, its achievements and its authority in the whole business district. These areas where in people coming in and out of the building would sit for a while and kill time. This is where prospective clients are met before they go up to the meeting room. This is where visitors are asked to wait until they are called inside, whether waiting for a doctor’s appointment or an applicant waiting to be interviewed. Many people spend at least fifteen minutes sitting there and waiting, therefore they have to be as comfortable as they can while waiting.

The lobby or reception must have decorative office furnishings. These should be well laid and will add to the cozy feel despite being in a work atmosphere. A noteworthy allocation of office furniture budget should go to the reception desks or table and the couch.
