PlasticPortal.com is a website that would help office furniture customers to determine the right decisions that they will make for whatever needs they have. This site illustrates various office equipments that assist customers in bringing out practicality and aesthetics.

After all, most consumers would want to personalize and define the exact purpose of furniture like office chairs and desks. On their point of view, RTA is much preferable in contrast to hauling and getting pieces into its proper place.

July 4, 2006Swag-leg furniture relaunched
Herman Miller again presented the swag-leg furniture with hopes that it will be reintrodued. It was noted that the swag-leg was launched nearly a half century ago but was not able to click at that time.
George Nelson designed desk and chairs with swag-legs and these lineups were lauched in 1958. Swagging is a process that uses pressure to taper and curve a metal tube.
Gregg VanderKooi, product manager of Herman Miller’s classic lines, described the furniture as “ahead of their time.”

In the recent market report made by Research and Markets, there were five sectors considered such as one, upholstered swivel seating or task chairs or operator chairs, executive chairs and orthopaedic office chairs. Two, all types of deskings or wooden desks or fibreboard worktops. Most desks come into this sector; Third is other wooden furniture. Fourth are metal cupboards and filing cabinets, comprising traditional three-drawer and four-drawer filing cabinets and cupboards; and other metal furniture or high-level shelving and storage units or screens, panels, display stands, mobile pedestals, two-drawer cabinets, desks with metal worktops, metal tables and trolleys.

The office desk is one of the office furniture that’s overlooked. It’s is only noticed for its utilitarian nature and users wouldn’t really give it much thought. Have you ever wondered who invented the desk or at least where the idea came from and how it was developed?

Misconception about sitting up straight may lead to lower back pains. As you recall in your childhood days, you are told to sit up straight. But Scottish researchers said Monday in Chicago that when looking at the spine with a new imaging technology, the spine is strained when sitting up straight with a straight back and thighs parallel to the floor. In fact, it’s better to lean back a bit, even if it looks like slouching.
