Leading Global Office Furniture Manufacturer Promotes Principal Desinger
New York-based furniture company, Bush Industries Inc. is a leading global manufacturer of ready-to-assemble and OfficeReady™ office furniture. The company announces the promotion of the former Principal Designer Joe Ruedinger to the position of Director of Product Design. He held the previous position since he joined the company in June of 2006. This business move is a part of an ongoing strategy to strengthen its product-leadership, which is focused on a business model, which is manily on driving consumer values, driving them though innovative design, and globally sourcing leading products.
According to Executive Vice President of Product Leadership and Global Sourcing, Mike Evans, Ruedinger has had many years of experience in design particularly in the commercial office furniture industry, which also includes the brand, Steelcase. In his new position as Director, he will mainly be responisble for the daily management of the design team. He also has to implement key initiatives to further develop and improve the process of the design team and as well as their collaboration procedures. Ruedinger will also perform the role of principal designer for Bush Industries’ commercial office furniture.
The man behind the company’s global design effort is Senior Vice President of Design and Sourcing, John Cooper. Ruedinger reports to him. Cooper’s credentials include serving the home furnishings industry for over 20 years in a various design and management capacities. He has been working with Bush Industries as Senior Vice President of Design & Sourcing for four years. It’s also good to highlight that Cooper has served two terms on the board of directors of the American Society of Furniture Designers. In addition, he has been a four-time finalist and one-time winner of the Pinnacle Award, the highest furniture design award in the industry. He has also won the ADEX award for design excellence. This list solidifies his understanding of the design aspect of office furnitures and his position in Bush Industries.
And, more on the man behind the furniture company’s global design effort, according to Evans, Cooper continues to be an invaluable asset to Bush’s home furnishings design efforts. Cooper will work with Ruedinger in improving the integration of Bush’s North American group with their China design team. Cooper will act as the principal designer for Bush Industries’ home furnishings product lines.
