Leader in Wood Office Furniture Announces New Hire
The recognized leader in wood office furniture, Kimball International, Inc., a company that’s been in the business of designing and manufacturing of office furniture for more than 30 years, has announced that they have taken on Jeff Fenwick as the new Vice President for Marketing for the Kimball Office brand. Formerly of ASSA ABLOY as their Vice President for the Door Group brands, Fenwick will assume responsibility that includes support and oversight of the brand’s strategic direction and growth objectives, for the marketing organization and the general achievement of Kimball Office brand goals.
Fenwick’s former position when he originally joined Kimball back in August of 2001 was Vice President of Marketing in the Company’s contract manufacturing operations, flexcel. While holding teh position, Fenwick was responsible for developing new business and achieving sales goals. He left Kimball in June of 2006 and joined the world’s leading manufacturer and supplier of door opening solutions and security, ASSA ABLOY.
47 year-old Fenwick spent 17 years of it with Ingersoll-Rand, where he advanced through sales management, as the National and International Sales Manager simultaneously, before he became the Marketing Manager and then the General Manager for Strategic Business for one division of Ingersoll. These credentials solidifies Fenwick’s understanding of the office furniture industry.
Fenwick studied in Illinois State University. He received his undergraduate degree in History and English.
He obtained a Masters of Science degree in Management from the University of St. Francis in Joliet, Illinois. Fenwick graduated with high honors. He also earned a certification as an Office Ergonomic Specialist in 2001 from North Carolina State University, in Raleigh, North Carolina. Now, he and wife, Mary, and their two children reside in Owensboro, Kentucky.
President for Furniture and Executive Vice Precident of Kimball International, Dan Miller, believes that Fenwick’s capabilities, values, and leadership attributes excellently complements the Company’s corporate identity and brand. His marketing experience and knowledge will help increase Kimball’s brand stature in the highly competitive commercial office furniture market. Miller also noted that Fenwick’s interest in coming back to Kimball says a lot about the company’s culture and values.

Jim Thyen also noted that bringing Fenwick back into Kimball in this key leadership role will help both assure continuity of execution as well as accelerating our increased understanding of what our customers want from the Kimball Office brand. Thyen is President and Chief Executive Officer of Kimball International.
Kimball offers varied products from two major company divisions: the Furniture and Cabinets segment and the Electronic Contract Assemblies segment. The former provides office furniture for the businesses and the hospitality industries. These products are being sold under a host of varied family of brand names that are under Kimball International. The latter provides engineering and manufacturing services which utilize common production and support capabilities to various industries around the world.
