Goodmans’ “Eye for the Good Guy” - Part 2
Here is the list of the Good Guys finalists:
1. Betty Stauffer, executive director of Literacy Volunteers of Tucson
2. Donald Strauch, executive director of TMM Family Services, Inc.
3. Liz McCusker, executive director of Tu Nidito (your little nest) Children and family Services
4. Marcia Berger, executive director of Arts for All, Inc.
5. Marthy Petty, executive director of Flowing Wells Extension Programs, Inc.
6. Nick Jones, CEO Old Pueblo Community Foundation
7. Scott Blades, executive director of Our Family Services
8. Susie Huhn, executive director of Casa de los Ninos
The nominees were chosen by Goodmans Interior Structures from the nominations received from the community. The contest winner will be made known by July and will be declared based on the number of votes from the public and the panel of judges namely:
* Robert Hayes, vice president and general manager of Goodmans Interior Structures
* Michael Chihak, publisher of the Tucson Citizen
* Debby Larsen, editor of Tucson Lifestyle Home and Garden
* Alan Michaels, assistant program director and morning personality for KWFM (Cool 1450) Radio
* Jill Madden, account executive at Madden Publishing
Criteria for judging will be derived from the nominee’s application of good business principles, demonstration of excellence in leadership, organizational influence in the community/population served, and need for a more efficient workplace. The declared winner will be treated to a $20,000 renovation of his or her office space.
This program is sponsored by numerous leaders and innovators in the construction and interior design industry such as Adolpson & Peterson, the Southwest Chapter of the International Interior Design Association and Shaw Contract Group among others.
Last year’s Good Guy was awarded to Libby Wright, director of The Giving Tree Outreach Program. Winners of the past years are Ron Adelson, CEO of Aid to Adoption of Special Kids in 2005 and Andrea Stouder, executive director of Teach for America in 2006. The contest is running in its second year in Tucson while it is in the third year in Phoenix.
