Amia will be launched first in North America and begins shipping to customers in February 2008. Steelcase has yet shown their expertise when it comes to office furniture, be it office desks or office chairs. They continue to innovate and think of ways to serve their market better.
The Amia has a key feature, which is the use of Alive Seating technology. This allows its operator to move and control the chair with comfort. There are a lot of chairs in Steelcase’s portfolio which use this technology like Leap(R), Think(R), Siento(TM) and Move(TM). Some of these chairs have even been used in airline and automobiles!

Recently, Steelcase has introduced a new task chair at the NeoCon 2007. This is a trade fair for interior design and space planning which is held in Chicago . Steelcase Inc., a company that creates designs and makes office furniture and technology products.
It provides and designs innovative products in North America and continue to showcase their expertise in other locations all over the world. The new task chair is included in the Alive Seating portfolio of Steelcase, the chair is called Amia. The office chair has features that enable comfort and long term sitting for the user. In 2004, former Michigan Lt Governor Dick Posthumus joined the company and led many new changes, including the introduction of freestanding desks and new design-oriented systems, expansion of export sales and developing a GSA contract program. In 2006, Posthumus led three other Midwest business and community leaders to purchase the company from Steil.

Panel Systems Unlimited have grown to be one of the nation’s leading suppliers of gently used and affordable office furniture.
