Transforming the home into an office

People find it a delight when changing the home to a working space as they become aware of it as a comfortable space to work in. Some areas in the home are suited for an office space while others can not be. Many home offices are often set up in whatever space is available like the corner of the bedroom, the basement, the attic, beneath the stairs or close to toilet walls.

In creating an office space at home, it would be appealing to use whatever extra furniture is on hand to spend less; this is good enough provided the furniture is not falling apart and discoloured. Second-hand office furniture requires special consideration, as it often has terrible “predecessor Chi.”

OfficeMax decides to improve office furniture line

OfficeMax aims to increase and improve its sales by coming up with a higher quality office furniture lines, starting off with the Sharper Image Office line a takeoff of the popular catalog and mall brand. An also, a Broyhill line for the market this summer.

The lines are part of the company’s overall private-brand strategy as it strives to increase profits, said Ryan Vero, the company’s executive vice president and chief merchandising officer. OfficeMax’ line of TUL pens came out last year.

Everyone breathes unconsciously and involuntarily. No one ever thinks of doing it purposefully but it happens all the time. Sometimes we take it for granted. Our body does all the work for us. We do not really notice it that much. Have you considered what is in the air that you breathe?

You can easily smell and determine the smog if you are in the outdoors Your sense of smell tells you that the air has smog. Can you smell something in the air you breathe in the office? What is in the air in your office, do you know what is it doing to your body?

A bad quarter for OfficeMax

Shares fall when the world’s No. 3 retailer of office supplies said first-quarter net income was $58.5 million, or 76 cents per share, measure up to with a net loss of $25.1 million, or 37 cents per share, a year earlier, when the company took charges related to moving its headquarters and closing underperforming stores.

Deutsche Bank analyst Mike Baker wrote in a research note. “With less upside likely, we expect estimates to come down and this is what hurt OfficeMax’s stock today,” wrote Baker, who has a “hold” rating on the stock.

Audit on election expenses to clear up speculations

 Clarington Mayor Jim Abernethy’s election expenses will serve to clear up any speculation that he overspent, says the mayor who underwent an audit.

Allowing a resident’s appeal for an audit of how much the mayor spent in his successful bid for the top job. Clarington council voted 6-0, with the mayor abstaining due to a conflict of interest, Under the Ontario Municipal Elections Act, Mayor Abernethy was permitted to spend just over $47,000. In his financial statement and auditor’s report, he lists his total expenses as $44,233.59.

A letter to Clarington Clerk Patti Barrie, Ron Webb expressed a number of questions about the truthfulness of the spending report.

“There was a lot of talk through the election period of grandiose overspending and I have found that the following information gives conclusion to the need for an audit to ensure that democracy has not been compromised,” said Mr. Webb in his letter.
